Mathew Street Festival

Mathew Street Music Festival is the annual celebration of one of the city’s cultural cornerstones – music. 

This fantastic free two day event with over 80 hours of live outdoor music celebrates cover, original and new bands which attract local people and guests from all over the world. 

Held over the August bank holiday weekend in Liverpool City Centre, outdoor stages showcase live music from over 95 bands from as far as USA, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Switzerland, Russia, Sweden and Scotland, there's also more than 40 indoor live music venues including the Cavern Pub and the Cavern Club. 

2011 saw the festival celebrating its 19th year and the line-up and outdoor stage themes made for a great weekend of music for all ages and tastes. It is a great symbol of what music means to this city and how we enjoy celebrating it.
