The Blackjacks meet The ‘Almost’ Blues
A not to be missed night at the legendary Cavern Club

Join us in the world-famous Cavern Club for a very special evening to celebrate the release of two new Vee-Tone Records releases. The Blackjacks – One After 909 and The ‘Almost’ Blues – In The Midnight Hour. If you dig 50’s rockin’ tunes and stompin’ R&B, you need to there!
Live on stage are Vee-Tone Records recordings artists The Blackjacks, originally a two-piece acoustic duo, but now backed up by electric guitar and drums. Their fantastic new 7” vinyl e.p. ‘One After 909’ will be available to buy on the night. The Blackjacks take their influences from 50’s rockabilly and British skiffle, they write their own songs, and their cover versions all come with a real Blackjacks twist!
We’re also celebrating a long overdue release from Liverpool’s very own 60’s R&B movers and shakers, The ‘Almost’ Blues. Their new Vee-Tone Records 7” vinyl e.p. ‘In The Midnight Hour’ contains 3 previously unreleased tracks from 1965, recorded at Abbey Road studios. These recordings feature the wonderful vocals of Colin Areety, we believe this may well have been Colin’s first ever professional recording session.
We are also delighted to be joined by founder member Al ‘Bluesman’ Peters, who will be around to chat about life on the road in the 60’s and about their fantastic recording sessions at Abbey Road. Al will also be joining The Blackjacks live on stage playing some blues harmonica. The ‘Almost’ Blues e.p. will also be available to buy on the night and Al will be around for a meet and greet and to sign copies of the new 7” vinyl single.
Bearing in mind that the 16th August is the 41st anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley, we’ll also be playing some great Elvis music. After the doors close at 10.00 pm, you can then make your way through to the main Cavern to be entertained by the resident Beatle band.
