The Cavern plans to celebrate Liverpool’s premiere of ‘Eight Days A Week: The Beatles’ movie release

Thursday 15th September sees the release of the hugely anticipated movie Eight Days A Week: The Beatles –The Touring Years directed by Ron Howard. Fittingly, Liverpool, where it all began, will be hosting the film premiere at FACT Picture House to an invited audience thirty minutes before London’s showing at Leicester Square.

A VIP guest list including Beatles inner sanctum luminaries from their early years will be walking the red carpet ahead of the screening. Names such as John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird, The Beatles first manager Allan Williams and John, Paul and George’s original band members The Quarrymen will be attending the evening.

To celebrate this special occasion the Cavern Club will be joining the city’s party by offering an extended live music programme across its three stages in The Cavern Club and Cavern Pub. The daily scheduled Magical Mystery coach tour of Liverpool’s iconic Beatles sites will, for one day only feature live music, offering it’s passengers a unique and interactive experience on board the coach.

“The amazing story of the Beatles is a part of Liverpool’s history and heritage which can still be very much seen and heard on the streets of the City today. It’s very fitting that the first sights and sounds of this film will start here before it reverberates once again around the world. There is already a real sense of excitement surrounding this premiere and we are happy to be joining in the city’s party, making it a real celebration for local, national and international people”
Cavern director Bill Heckle
