This will be Them Beatles’ 4th consecutive year at International Beatleweek.
The “Them Beatles Story” began in 2009 when Clark Gilmour and Joe Kane first bumped into each other. Clark invited Joe to help him stand up. Joe, a professional drinker, agreed on the spot and a legend was created, a legend that will last a lunchtime. They were soon to be joined by Craig McGown, a guitarist of no fixed hairstyle, but it would be another two months before they found their regular drummer Grahame Critcher, hiding in an LDV Convoy. A man appeared on a flaming pie and said unto them, “From this day on you are Beatles with a Them.” “Thank you, Mister Man,” they said, thanking him.
Since then, we’ve been taking our brand of Beatlemania to far off places such as Australia, South Africa, India and Scarborough, playing Beatles songs from the early days in Liverpool and Hamburg right through to The Beatles’ studio years and solo careers, with the costumes and instruments to match. This year we will continue with our tradition of playing B-sides, rarities and album tracks, some so obscure that The Beatles didn’t even write them…By which we mean to introduce of course, Them Rutles!
